Day 2...South Beachin' it up! More or less...

Yesterday I got some crummy news which I can't really go into at this time, but suffice it to say it put me in a bit of a funk. My stress level was already fairly high due to a lot of things and this did NOT help. So I ran my lunchtime errand and didn't bother with lunch. Around 4 I actually got a littler jittery so I ate 2 spoonfuls of natural peanut butter...basically, because I had no cash and I cleared out my snack drawer last week, but had not restocked it with SB friendly stuff (although the PB isn't TOO bad).

At any rate, I got home from work and Mr. Paisley was thawing the slices of London Broil that I had picked up at BJ's over the weekend. I hadn't ever seen it sliced and it was only $7 for 6 good size pieces so into the cart it went. Might as well give it a shot!. He salted and peppered and threw it on the grill with some hickory chips in the smoker box. He also grilled some fresh zucchini with EVOO, salt and pepper...while I LOVE grilled squash of any kind...I sadly tossed this in the trash. He put it on the grill directly over the smoker box...dear GOD was it nasty. I sat down with my plate and it was the first thing I went for....popped one piece in my mouth and he immediately commented on the face I made. Lordy...it was bad. Luckily the squashes are still $.99 a pound at Publix this week. No smoke chips...we also nuked a bag of Healthy Weight Green Giant steamer veggies. I stocked up on cases of these 2 weeks ago at BJs because they had an instant coupon for $1 off. They're also really yummy and Mr. P prefers them to the Immunity Blend (which I also love) because they don't have red and yellow peppers. I always pick the peppers out of his and put them on my plate...The Healthy Weight mix is carrots, sugar snap peas, black beans and edamame. They have a butter sauce on them, but it's just a little bit.

Healthy Weight Veggie stats:
 2 servings per container
 90 calories
 2.5g total fat
14g carbohydrate
 5g fiber

This morning I had to flat iron my hair - which took longer than usual (I really need a haircut) and I didn't have time to make breakfast. I ended up going to the cafe downstairs at work. I got a 2 egg omelet with shredded cheese and mushrooms and 2 slices of bacon.

I did grab stuff for lunch before I left home. One of the leftover pieces of London Broil and a box of Healthy Weight veggies.

I had planned to go pick some stuff up at Publix on my way home last night, but I got sidetracked by the crappy news and ended up going straight home and then I wasn't in the mood to go back out...even though its only 5 minutes to the grocery store.

At least this is a 3 day weekend. I guess i'll spend most of it working on the living room since we picked a paint color and Mr. P started patching drywall last night.

I'll get my South Beach act together over the weekend...
