Air Flow Designs is my hero...

Friday Mr. Paisley went in to work super early to put in two hours before coming home to meet the Air Flow Designs installers. Lucky for me, Mr. P is an electrician and he did all the electrical work required for the new AC unit. Saved us a little bit of money...he also did the finishing work. Excellent...

So here are some photos from our big day...
This one has us puzzled. This is our air handler closet. They had to cut out the bottom half of the wall because of the difference in size between the old unit and the new one.  The "rail" is where the old shelf was. Notice that the inside of the closet is wood paneling. Odd.

I really don't know how these guys do it...note that he's already drenched in sweat. They work with no AC all day. Every day. In this shot he's pulling up the old foam-crete pad that the outside unit was sitting on. Had to replace it...because the new unit is, in a word, HUGE.

New slab...pre-fab....now he's running new copper lines. I like copper...

Did I mention the new unit is a monster?

Front porch got a wee bit messy during the process...that's the old air handler and wall grill for the vent from the wall they cut out.

More sweat...God bless him.

Working on the inside unit...

Just about done outside...

Fancy...

Very nice...

Ummmm actually I think he's doing the Puron thing here.

Replaced the solid half door with bi-folds. Easier than cutting the hole and installing a vent in a solid one.  Obviously they need to be painted. Since i'll be repainting the living room, i'll just redo the hall (such that it is...since it won't take but 10 minutes for wall paint) as you can see one wall is 3 door panels with trim around them. Just have to paint above them to the ceiling. The end of the hall is the bathroom door...with trim. The Opposite wall is the door to the guest room. So yeah...from the top of each door to the ceiling and 2 corners...that's all the wall painting there is!
Now here's my super fancy new thermostat that does everything except order pizza. The large number is the inside temp. The outside temp is below that, plus the time.  It has a programmable override - so we can change the temp for any number of hours without messing up the regular "schedule", it has a vacation mode so we can set the date we will be returning from a trip and it'll revert to the regular schedule on that day.  We can set the humidity point and a zillion times of day to whatever temp we want.

This unit dropped the inside temp 5 degrees in less than 20 minutes. Amazing.

Oh heaven. I remember the day we got our AC installed fondly.
