Well it's Day 9! I've had 4 dates, some apple juice and a bowl of tuna salad (tuna, mayo, diced pear).
I'm really disappointed in the pears I bought. They're tough and have ZERO flavor. Not sure what to do with them other than mix them into other things to add some crunch - they certainly aren't lending additional flavor.
My motivation is lacking.
I'm still trying to get Christmas stuff cleaned up, as well as laundry, regular house cleaning, and putting away things from our last trip.
I did go manage to go through the chest freezer. I put all the "no" stuff in the bottom, tossed a few things, and found out I need to stop buying chicken. We are full up on chicken. I did find a few gems though! I found a whole turkey and a turkey breast. I think I'm going to pop that turkey breast in the oven tomorrow! Maybe next weekend I'll have Mr. P. smoke the whole turkey.
I tossed some chicken breasts in the crock pot with the chicken stock I made last week. When they were done I tossed them in my trusty KitchenAid mixer and let it do the shredding. No more organic, canned, ridiculously expensive chicken for my chicken salad. Not when it's easy to slow cook chicken and make a big batch. Saves on recycling, saves on money, saves on time. It's a win-win don't you think?
Dinner - I wasn't in the mood. I didn't get enough done around the house - so we went to Outback. Is it too soon to just say I had the usual? Unseasoned, unbuttered, unoiled steak and mixed veggies and a naked sweet potato - with water. I wish their water tasted better.
